Robert “Bobby” Smith of Pembroke Ma, 73 passed away peacefully on January 20, 2021. Bob is survived by his mother Kathleen Markou of Hudson, MA, his loving wife Patricia Smith (Sullivan) of Pembroke, MA, his son Matthew Smith and wife Stacey of Plymouth MA, his daughter Melissa Walsh and husband Joseph of Stafford, VA, and his daughter Courtney Smith of Plymouth, MA. Grandpa Bob had six beautiful grandchildren, Kaleigh, Samantha, Matthew, Jacob, Madeleine, and Reilly. He also leaves behind his wonderful aunts, uncles, in-laws, and many nieces and is preceded in death by his father Frank Smith of Hudson Ma, brother Richard Smith of Berlin Ma, & stepfather Michael Markou of Hudson Ma. Bob was born in Marlborough, Massachusetts on March 4, 1947 to Kathleen (Anastas) Markou and the late Frank A. was a high school hall of fame athlete at Hudson High School for football, hockey and baseball. He also played semi-pro football for the Marlboro Shamrocks and was selected on the Sixties/Seventies All Decade Team. He loved serving for his country in the National Guard. Bobby had a career as a civil engineer. He was a devoted sports fan who loved watching his children and grandchildren play, you could always find him in the bleachers at the rinks and the fields. Bobby was a huge New England sports fan, loved listening to live music, attending Broadway musicals with his wife, and enjoyed spending time with his family.Bobby married his wife Patricia, on August 8, 1970, just recently celebrating their 50th anniversary. Together, they raised 3 children in their Pembroke home. He was a devoted husband, genuine father, and heartfelt grandfather. He will be sorely missed.
