Robert F. Fox, 92, of South Bend, Indiana died peacefully at the Whitcomb Towers in St. Joseph, Michigan on Wednesday morning, November 20, 2013.
Robert was born January 27, 1921 to Frank and Gertrude (Stanage) Fox in Shelby, Michigan. After graduating from Shelby High School, Robert served his country in the US Army during WWII. He lived in Three Oaks and worked at Bendix in South Bend. He served as a union steward and committeeman for UAW Local #9. Robert married his wife Leta on May 30, 1970 in Grand Ledge, Michigan, and in 1971 they moved to South Bend, Indiana. He was a member of the Faith United Methodist Church in South Bend. Robert liked watching sports and was a die hard fan of the Chicago Cubs and the Bears. He also enjoyed golfing, gardening and traveling.
Survivors include his children, Anne (Arthur) Klute of Kalamazoo, Michigan; Diana (Robert) Swartz of St. Joseph, Michigan; Gloria (Donald) King of Pahrump, Nevada and Robert C. (Tina) Fox of LaPorte, Indiana; grandchildren, Kristen, Kevin, James, Steven, Daniel, Timothy, Kimberly, Brandi, Robin and Craig; 29 great grandchildren; 1 great great grandchild; and brothers Charles (Karon) Fox of Three Oaks, Jack (Janice) Fox of Three Oaks and James (Helen) Fox of Hastings, Michigan.
Robert was preceded in death by his son Michael in 1986, his grandson Scott in 1992, his wife Leta in 2005 and by his sisters, Maxine and Norma Jean and brothers Dale and Richard.
