Robert “Bob-O” Emerson Halterman
January 25, 1953 – July 25, 2015
Robert “Bob-O” Emerson Halterman, 62, of Fruita, Colorado passed away Saturday, July 25, 2015, of heart failure in his home with his dog, Lucky, by his side.
He was born in Arcadia, CA; although as he would tell it, he was born in Pedley. Those who knew Bob, knew that he could be a teller of pretty tall tales, but some facts will stand out as diamonds in his life.
In 1981, he married Janice Cloud in Riverside, CA. Shortly afterwards, they moved to Mack, Colorado, and eventually to Fruita where he would spend the remaining 30 years of his life. Throughout 34 years of marriage, he loved his wife, and they stood together throughout all the struggles they had to face. He created a life and a home, and eventually they had a son, Matthew Robert, and a daughter, Tawny Lee Frances.
Bob is survived by his wife, and children, as well as his daughter-in-law, Brandi; son-in-law, Diego; granddaughter, Elayshia; grandson, Griffen, and grandson, Juan Diego. He was a loving father, husband, and grandfather.
Bob had his own sense of fashion, wearing his signature plain pocketed T-shirt, and either jeans or cut off shorts fashioned from his old jeans. Every morning he enjoyed coffee and the morning paper, and had a love of raising his children, milk and tinkering around with the wide collection of unique objects he accumulated throughout his life. He created a world around him that he wanted to live in, and pulled everyone he touched into it. Although he has passed away, his world and memory will stay with his family, and his spirit will continue in all of their hearts.
