Robert E. “Bob” Seipp, 79, of Trenton, Ill., born Aug. 12, 1930, in O’Fallon, Ill., died Thursday, Aug. 27, 2009, at Anderson Hospital, Maryville, Ill.
Bob worked as a mine inspector at Monterey Coal 2. He retired after 28 years. He was an Army veteran serving as a Corporal in Germany during the Korean Conflict.
Bob was an avid sports fan, Chicago Cubs fan, Notre Dame fan, and enjoyed attending sports functions at the O’Fallon High School. For many years Bob and his wife, Loretta traveled across the United States, camping and enjoying nature.
Bob loved playing cards, dice and board games with his family and friends. He was never known to turn down a good game.
Bob dearly loved his family. He was very caring to his loving wife, children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and his many friends. He was dearly loved and will truly be missed by his family and friends. Bob was a “Great Guy”, by all who knew him.
He was preceded in death by his parents, John Aloysius and Mary Rose, nee Zeisset, Seipp; stepchildren, Dawn De Hart and Gail Greer; and brother-in-law, Joe Heumann.
Surviving are his wife, Loretta, nee Willman Seipp; daughters, Roberta “Bobbie” Bess of Shiloh, Ill., and Becky (Steve) Pate of St. Jacob, Ill.; stepchildren, Lee (Debbie) Roberson of Glen Carbon, Ill., Frank (Nancy) Roberson of Gillespie, Ill., Cindy (Bob) Tanis of Thorton, Ill., and Vicky (Shelley) Roberson of Collinsville, Ill.; 19 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; sisters, Gloria (Leo) Artiano and Hope Heumann; and brothers, Dick (Norma) Seipp and Mel (Maryann) Seipp.Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimers Association appreciated.
