Robert E. Seiler, 66, of Holiday City West, Berkeley Twp., NJ, passed away suddenly at Ocean Medical Center in Brick surrounded by his loving family on Saturday, October 14, 2017. Born in Staten Island, NY, he lived in Lakewood, NJ before moving to Berkeley Twp. 3 years ago. Bob, A.K.A. The Bopper/Pops, was a graduate of Tottenville High School Staten Island, NY and a 1972 graduate of Stevens Institute of Technology Hoboken. He was a Corrosion Engineer and Manager of Architectural Specification for Con-Lux Coatings, Sherwin Williams, and International Paint-Akzo Noble, retiring in 2012.
Bob was a parishioner of St. Maximilian Kolbe RC Church, Berkeley Twp. He was on the Board of Trustees of Holiday City West, a member of the Island Beach Civic Association, a coach for the Lakewood Soccer Club for 15 years, and served as an Assistant Coach for Howell Middle School South Basketball Team. Bob was an avid sports fan of the NY Rangers, NY Mets, NY Giants, and the NY Knicks. He had plenty of jerseys and hats to display his love for the games. Bob also loved his boat-The Gypsea II. All of his family enjoyed many boat rides and especially River Day.
Bob had many other interests including swimming laps in the pool, playing the guitar out on the “deck”, playing golf with his sons and friends, reading many books on his kindle, and preparing for Armageddon. Bob was preceded in death by his parents Dorothy and Joseph Seiler, and is survived by his wife of 44 years, Janice (Boerum); his three children Bradley Seiler and his wife Lauren of Montclair, NJ, Christopher Seiler and his wife Kathleen of Toms River, and Trisha Seiler of Toms River; three grandchildren Logan, Mason and Jake Seiler; a brother Joseph Seiler and his partner Kenneth Henderson of San Francisco, CA; a sister-in-law Lois Boerum of Toms River; a brother-in-law Bill Boerum and his wife Nancy of Sonoma, CA; and his beloved dog Webster (A.K.A Snurt).
