Robert E. Safford of Anderson, Indiana went peacefully home to Jesus Nov.17, 2009. Bob was a 1950 graduate of Markleville High School. A Mechanical Engineer retired from Delco Remy with 31 years of service and a second career with Quality Printing for 25 years, Bob was a member of Madison Park Church of God. Bob is preceded in death by his mother, Maxine Safford.
He is survived by his wife of 28 years, Linda; his father, George F. Safford; his sister, Marsha Sue Gerald Campfield; five children, Robert “Bobby” Donna Safford, Mark Safford, Randy Patti Safford, Steve Patty Harney and Christine Rick Bryant; grandchildren, Chris Safford, Laura Donald Righter, Chuck Missy Safford, Scott Amanda Safford, Kelli Jonathan Mirgeaux, Jordan Safford, Brooke Safford, Jason Vandergrift, Chris Vandergrift, Mackenzie and Taylor Gossage, Makala, Adam and Ian Harney; eight great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Bob loved to travel internationally with his wife Linda. An avid sports enthusiast, he most enjoyed playing golf with his sons and friends.
