Robert E. Poole, 65 years, of Jacksonville, IL died Monday evening, February 11, 2008 at Passavant Area Hospital in Jacksonville.
He was born December 22, 1942 in Jacksonville, IL; the son of Mervin and Mildred â??Millieâ? Landreth Poole.
He is survived by a sister, Sue Wiseman (husband, Leon) of Maroa; a brother, Steven Poole of Jacksonville; a niece; a nephew; and two great nieces. He was preceded in death by a nephew and a brother, James A. Poole in infancy.
Mr. Poole was a 1960 graduate of Jacksonville High School. He was honorably discharged after service in the US Army following high school. He was employed for two years at J. Capps & Sons Clothiers and later worked for Anderson-Clayton Foods (later Kraft Foods) over 30 years, retiring in 1995. During retirement, he worked part-time at Turner Tree Service and Nursery which allowed him the opportunity to expand his interest in landscaping.
