Robert E. McKinstry, 61, of Worcester and formerly of Upton, died Friday, July 29, 2016 after a battle with cancer. He had been an electronics engineer with Digital Equipment Corporation for 22 years.
Mr. McKinstry was born in Waltham, the son of Gladys McKinstry of Upton and the late Allan W. McKinstry. He was a graduate of Blackstone Valley Tech High School in Upton, where he studied electronics, and went on to earn an MBA from Worcester Polytechnic Institute. He enjoyed coin collecting and scuba diving and was especially proud to be the godfather of his niece Jacqueline.
In addition to his mother, he leaves two brothers, Allan McKinstry, Jr. of Upton and Glenn McKinstry of Uxbridge; a sister, Janice Mosko and her husband Jack of Woburn; and his longtime companion, Gloria Saucier of Northbridge. He also leaves four nieces, Kyla McKinstry and Jacqueline and Jillian Mosko, all of Woburn, and Erika Wine of Leicester; and a nephew, Cameron McKinstry of Northbridge.
