Robert E. Gore, 88, passed away Wednesday, August 29, 2018 at SSM Health St. Mary’s Hospital in Centralia. He was born September 13, 1929 in Sandoval, Illinois, son of Robert R. Gore and Viola Maude (Fisher) Gore. He married JoAnn (Pigg) on July 10, 1965 at Diamond Springs Baptist Church and she survives in Centralia.

In addition to his wife of 53 years, he is also survived by several nieces and nephews: Mary Kay Shaffer and husband Mike of Sandoval, J.D. Gore and wife Diane of Sandoval, Lisa Speiser and husband Mike of Sandoval, David Gore and wife Rae Ann of Sandoval, Donna Moody of Fenton, Missouri; numerous great nieces and nephews; sister-in-law: Mary Louise Gore of Sandoval; special friend: Cecil Brown of Colorado Springs, Colorado and David Finney of Centralia.

He was preceded in death by his parents, brother: Jim Gore, sister: Martha Gore Skibinski, and brother-in-law: Ray Pigg and wife JoDean. Robert served in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict, he served Basic Training in Fort Belvoir, Virginia, and stationed at Brize Norton, England where he was a Crane Operator. He was the owner of Bob’s Western Wear, self employed for over 50 years, worked in T.V. Sales and Service, Coal Mining, and Carpentry. He was a member of the Calumet Street Christian Church in Centralia.
