Robert married the love of his life, Patricia (Caudill) Smith on, August 17, 1956, in Grant County, Indiana. Mr. Smith had worked in the maintenance dept. of Jefferson-Smurfit Corporation for 35yrs., retiring in 1996.
Besides his wife of 55yrs, Patricia, he is survived by three sons, Robert Smith (wife-Karen), Hartford City, Randy Smith (wife-Robin), Farmland and Richard Smith, Dunkirk; two grandsons, John Smith, North Carolina and Jacob Smith, Hartford City; four granddaughters, Jessica Blake (husband-Brad), Belinda Smith, both of Muncie, Amy Smith, Anderson and Natasha Rhodus (husband-Travis), Parker City; two step granddaughters, Melisa and Katie; five great grandchildren; two sisters, Francis Ellis, Anderson and Mary Keihn, Muncie.
He was preceded in death by his parents, one daughter, Eldora Gay Smith in 1982; two sisters, Ion Davis and Jenny Pitcock.
