Robert Edward Ackley, 75, husband of Judith (Bechard) Ackley, passed away on Saturday June 26, 2010 at Bristol Hospital.
Robert was born on December 17, 1934 in Torrington, a son of the late Walter and Mary (Corsi) Ackley, Sr.
Mr. Ackley served with the United States Air Force during the Korean War, and was a member of the 735th AC & W Squadron. He enjoyed going to the squadron reunions and was a lifetime member of the DAV and a member of the American Legion.
He retired from both Superior Electric and Chandler Evans and loved going hunting and fishing. He also enjoyed going on cruises and had a special fondness for Vermont. He enjoyed watching both the Atlanta Braves and the Boston Red Sox games.
In addition to his wife, of Bristol, he is survived by his daughters and sons-in-law, Andrea and Scott Smith of Plantsville and Alison and Will White of Bristol; his very special grandchildren, Jacob and Megan Smith and Brendan White.
He was predeceased by his brother, Walter Ackley Jr. and his sister, Patricia Fallon.
