Robert “Don” Schnorrenberg, 94, of Salem, died at 12:45 p.m. Thursday, February 14, 2013 at the Salem Care Center. He was born June 12, 1918 in Youngstown, the son of the late Harry K. and Rena Hazel (Paxson) Schnorrenberg. Before his retirement in 1979, Mr. Schnorrenberg had been a letter carrier for 26 years at the Salem Post Office. He was a member of the First Christian Church. His wife, Betty Rogers Schnorrenberg, whom he married October 2, 1940, preceded him in death January 4, 2008. A daughter, Donna L. Keith; two brothers, Kenneth and Keith Schnorrenberg; a daughter-in-law, Karen Schnorrenberg; and a grandson, Bob Schnorrenberg also preceded him in death. Don was a proud veteran of WWII who served with the U.S. Army’s 613th Engineer Light Equipment Company. Survivors include a son, Gary L. Schnorrenberg of Brooksville, Florida; four granddaughters, Lynne (Vince) Richtar, Janet Schnorrenberg, Jess (Bob) Tonander and Liza Sprout; and two great-grandchildren, Karen and Johannah.
