Born July 19, 1924 in Troy, NY: died March 27, 2011 in Alameda, CA at the age of 86. After receiving the Purple Heart in WWII, he attended NYU where he met his wife, Helen Bell. Their loving relationship lasted 62 years. Started a family in Pittsburg, CA continued on to Provo, UT, Levittown, PA, before returning to Danville, CA. Along the way their family grew to 6 children. Next stage… Alameda on a sailboat before settling back on land. Interests included love of sailing, Alameda Community Band, spending time with family. Preceded in death by his wife, Helen, and survived by sister Lynn Russell, his children, Carol, Rob (Cherie), Ginny, Phil (Peggy), Sue McMahon (Mike), Russ (Susan), his grandchildren, Kelly, Brian, Chris, Katie, Becky, Stephanie, Chelsea, Alyson, Eric and great-grandchildren, Garrett, Leo and Ayden.
