Robert DeConti, 82, of Newington, CT, entered into eternal rest on Friday, September 30th
peacefully at home surrounded by his loving family. Born in New Britain, CT to Peter and Pauline DeConti, Robert was their fourth child out of five. He is predeceased by his brothers Angelo, Peter, and Phil. Robert is survived by his twin sister MaryLou (DeConti) McCue.
He leaves behind his loving and devoted wife Linda Kasiski DeConti, of 60 years. Robert and Linda started their lives together and welcomed three sons: Peter and his wife Dawn of Alexandrea, VA, Paul and his wife Maria of Newington, CT and Mark and his wife Denise of Newington, CT. Robert also leaves behind the joys of his life, his two precious granddaughters, Kristina Maria and Markella Grace both of Newington, CT who will miss their Papa more than words can say. He was also deeply loved by his many nieces and nephews.
Bob was a graduate of New Britain High class of 1960 and worked as a soda “jerk” at Guida’s. He was a Veteran of the United States Army and belonged to the U.S. Power Squadrons. Bob was a Master Plummer and HVAC, working at Pratt and Whitney for 35 years.
As a ‘jack of all trades’ Bob was always willing to help anyone and everyone. He helped to build two dance studios for his daughter-in-law, helped many family members build homes and assist in any project that needed to get done. After his retirement from Pratt and Whitney he worked alongside his nephew Johnny along with his brother Phil developing and perfecting liquid cooled brakes at DeConti Industries. He enjoyed traveling with his wife and friends.
