Robert Dale Spratt, 55, of Galesburg, died peacefully at home surrounded by his family at 9:23 p.m. Thursday, November 16, 2017.
Dale was born March 12, 1962 in Quincy, the son of Eli Melvin and Carolyn Jane (Cole) Spratt. He married Cathy Lynn Allard. He later married Melissa Ann Padilla. Dale is survived by his mother, Carolyn of Galesburg; five daughters, Elizabeth (Jason) Reitman of Kirkwood, Sara (Nick) Young of Galesburg, Catie Spratt of Monmouth, Teryan “Grace” (Josh) Magee of Galesburg, and Madisyn Spratt of Galesburg; one brother, Kent (Crissy) Spratt of Burlington, IA; and one sister, Mary (Tom) Gehring of Galesburg. He is also survived by nine grandchildren, Mackenzie, Hayden, and Alyssa Musser, Jackson Eli Reitman, Ayva Sells and Deegan Carnes, and Brooklyn, Eli, and Mason Magee; two nephews, Kristopher Eli Spratt and Webster Gehring; and two nieces, Lisa Gehring and Lainey Spratt. Dale was preceded in death by a son, William Robert Spratt on September 14, 1994 and his father Eli on September 9, 2006.
Dale worked as a farm hand and Trulson Construction until he went to work at Kopper’s Industries in 1994 until he retired in 2017. Dale was of the Christian faith and a member of Alpha Lodge No. 155 A.F.&A.M. He enjoyed being outdoors farming and fishing. Dale had a generous heart, always willing to give to charitable causes or friends in need. As well as raising money for cancer research, especially Pancreatic Cancer.
