Robert (Bob) Morren, 88, of Frostproof, Florida, was born on December 2, 1933 to Willis and Agatha (Van Eck) Morren of Portage, Michigan. He was the fourth of six children.
He passed on December 27, 2021 to be reunited with his wife Bonnie Jean (Hobson) Morren.
Bob was of Dutch descent and very devoted Christian parents which made him the man he was to everyone. Kind, friendly, and always ready to tease with a joke. Generous and frugal at the same time which lead to what in his later years came to be known as “Adventures with Bob”.
He married the love of his life, Bonnie, and served in the US Navy during the Korean War. When he came home, he was a firefighter for the City of Kalamazoo for 28 years and on his days off worked on his farm in Vicksburg.
Bob liked to hunt and keep in touch with his family so he took Bonnie and their kids in a camper and they saw the USA. He made friends everywhere and was invited to come visit whenever he was near again.
When he retired from the fire department, he and Bonnie continued to travel with a fifth wheel RV. He was able to expand his hunting trips to include Montana, Africa and Alaska. His parents were living in Frostproof, Florida and in 1987 they decided to move there permanently too. They were married for 63 years.
He was preceded in death by wife Bonnie. He is survived by his brother Dr. Ronald (Diane) Morren, his children, Sheri (Herbert) DeMeritt, Sue Hoeksema, Steven (Denise) Morren and a very large and extended family of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
