Robert D. Williams, 82, of Huntington, IN, passed away on Thursday, July 21, 2016, at 12:30 a.m. at his residence.

Mr. Williams was born on September 30, 1933, in Huntington, IN, to Harry and Pauline (Steerhoof) Williams. His parents preceded him in death. He married Carolyn McBay on April 17, 1960. She survives and resides in Huntington, IN.

Mr. Williams was a 1952 graduate of Huntington High School. He was the owner of Southside Shell then later known as Southside Marathon for over 40 years. As owner, Robert received the half century award for long standing businesses in Huntington. He served 8 years in the National Guard and was a member of the South Broadway Church of Christ in Huntington, IN. Mr. Williams loved spending time at the lake and boating with his family. He enjoyed time with his grand-kids, riding around on the golf cart, traveling and any kind of car.

Along with his wife, he is survived by three sons, Perry (Diane) Williams, Tracy Williams, John (Helen) Williams; and one daughter, Charlene Hall, all of Huntington, IN. He is also survived by one brother, Jerry (Nancy) Williams, Huntington, IN; two sisters, Charlotte (Charles) Campbell, Betty Foster, both of Huntington, IN; 5 grandchildren and one great grandchild.

Along with his parents he was preceded in death by two brothers, Charles Williams, Tyrone Williams; and two sisters, Gloria Bowers and Mary Hinman.
