Robert D. Jones, 87 of Odin, passed away September 6, 2016 at Odin Healthcare Center in Odin, IL.
He was born July 17, 1929 in Centralia, son of Oscar P. Jones and Lillian (Stoafer) Jones.
He is survived by two nieces: Anna Marie Romero of Centralia, IL and Kay Jones of Sparta, IL; two nephews: Junior Jones and wife Shirley of Centralia, IL and Donald Jones of Sparta IL; a great nephew: Greg Romero of Chicago and a great niece: Kim Romero of Collinsville, IL. He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers: Francis Jones, Hallie Jones and Dwight Jones two nephews: Lonnie Jones and Jim Jones.
Robert co-owned and operated Jones Transfer Company until he retired. He served in the Army and is a member of VFW Post 2055 and American Legion Post 446. He loved to hunt and fish and spending time with his family and friends.
