Robert Dean Houck of Indianapolis passed away peacefully Feb 4th 2013 at the age of 87.
He graduated from Howe High School in 1943 and went on to serve in the Army Air Force in WWII where he was an athletic instructor, parachute trainer and competitive basketball player. Afterwards he married Joan Eschmeyer and became an Electrical Engineer at Purdue University. His career included both Bryant and Peerless in Indianapolis, Space Conditioning in Harrisonburg Virginia, Harper J.
He was predeceased by his wife of 60 years Joan Eschmeyer Houck. He is survived by his three daughters Kathy Hoover (Wayne), Karen Roberts (Bill) and Lisa Rapchick (Joe). He is also survived by his three granddaughters Jenny Raymer (Brad), Laura Sanchez (Justin) and Diane Stafford (Kevin), as well as six great-grandchildren: Calvin, Ally, Luke, Oliver, Jack, Nora and another one on the way.
He was much loved by his family, friends and most anyone who knew him. He was kind, generous, intelligent and respectful, with a wry sense of humor.
He loved making his wife happy, dogs of all shapes and sizes, spectator sports, bobbing in the ocean, reading, basking in the sun, corn on the cob, ice cream, cookies, and gooseberry pie.
