Robert Coplan, age 91, died peacefully Friday afternoon May 4, 2007 at his home in Escanaba surrounded by his loving family.
Robert was born November 9, 1915, in Escanaba, the son of Morris and Bessie Anne (Greenspan) Coplan. He was raised in Escanaba and attended and graduated from the Escanaba Senior High School in 1933. During WWII, Robert served at the rank of First Sergeant of operations with the ordinance department in the Asiatic-Pacific with the United States 10th Army Air Corps. Following his honorable discharge, Robert joined his brothers, working in the family business for B.A. Coplan Iron and Metal. Robert owned and operated B.A. Coplan Iron and Metal until his retirement in September of 1998. Robert was a long time member of the Escanaba VFW and the Escanaba Elks.

Survivors include many loving nieces, nephews and cousins

Robert was preceded in death by his parents, Morris and Bessie Anne:
