Robert “BoB” Welsh, 67, passed away on February 23, 2021 after fighting a heroic battle with cancer.
He was a local boy, growing up in the South Miami area, graduating Coral Gables High and Florida International University. He spent his early years building houses. He was elected to the City of South Miami Commission in 2012, which included 1 term as Vice Mayor and was recently reelected for a 2nd term. Bob, known locally as “Bicycle Bob” for his passionate community involvement in delivering informative flyers to city residents. His passion for growing and planting thousands of native trees is evident as seen throughout all of South Miami.
He is survived by Marilyn Magill, his loving wife of 20 years, and a host of family relatives.
Bob was larger than life, loved by everyone who crossed his path, a friend to many. He will be sorely missed.
