Robert C. Yurek

 Robert C. Yurek, 82, died on Wednesday, January 3, 2018, at RWJ at Somerset. Born in Somerville to the late Frank and Jane Yurek, he was formerly of Middlesex before moving to Whitehouse over 42 years ago. Robert was a Bound Brook High School graduate and US Army Veteran serving his country during the Korean War as an Honor Guard stationed in Berlin. He was employed for Eastern Steal Barrel as a sales representative in Piscataway for over 38 years. After his retirement, Robert worked for The Fiddler’s Elbow. He was an active life member of the Somerville Elks and received the honor as Elk of the Year in 1991 for his outstanding contributions. Robert was also member of the Elks Handicapped Children’s Committee and enjoyed playing Mickey Mouse. He was a proud member of the American Legion Post 284 in Whitehouse, the 200 Club and the Berlin US Military Veterans Association. In his spare time, he enjoyed playing golf and he will always be remembered for his kind heart towards animals.

 He leaves behind to cherish his memory, his loving wife of 42 years, Rose Marie Yurek; children, Joni (Spatz) Moretti and husband, Joe, and Barbara (Spartz) Lestorti; and two grandchildren, Kristin and Louis Lestorti.
