Robert C. Heitz, 86 of Freeport died Wednesday September 15, 2004 at FHN Memorial Hospital.
Born August 10, 1918 in Freeport he was the son of Charles and Margaret (Scheffner) Heitz. On November 23, 1946 he married Marcella M. Petrik. He Worked for Burgess Battery and farmed in the area for over 20 years and the worked for Freeport Supply, he was a member of Faith United Methodist Church, a veteran of WWII and a member of the VFW.
He was a avid Golfer, bowler and softball player. Surviving is his wife, Marcella, two sons, Regan C. (Deborah) Heitz of Austin, TX, Randy C. (Cherie) Heitz of Freeport, one sister, Deloris Brechtel of Dunlap, IL six grandchildren and two great Grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents and two sisters.
