Robert C. Frantzen, 83, formerly of Oglesby, died at 9:05 p.m. Sunday, October 22, 2006 at LaSalle Healthcare Center. Services will be 1:30 p.m. Friday at the Prey-Mueller Funeral Home, Oglesby. Visitation will be Friday from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at the funeral home. Private Burial will be at Forest Lawn Cemetery, LaSalle with military honors by the LaSalle-Oglesby Veterans Memorial Group. He was born March 14, 1923 in Princeton to Christopher and Jessie (Lamb) Frantzen. He worked as a machinist at Sunstrand and he had worked for the Army Corps of Engineers.

He served in the Coast Guard during WWII. He married Dorthey Jean Bowers on November 21, 1943, in Princeton. He was Scout Master for Wyanet Boy Scouts for many years. He was past commander of the Wyanet VFW, and was a life member of the Oglesby American Legion, and the LaSalle County Voiture 40- 8.

He is survived by: 4 daughters, Patti (Richard) Presthus of Spring Valley, Judith (Peter) Peltier of Princeton, Kathy (John) Bosi of Cherry, and Dee Ann (Cecil) Crist of Georgia; 4 sons, Michael (Carol) Frantzen of Fenton, KY, Terry (Cindy) Frantzen of Calhoun, GA, Steve (Becky) Frantzen of Princeton, and Randy (Karen) Frantzen of Hennepin; 33 grandchildren; and 49 great grandchildren. He was preceded by: his wife on May 2, 1993; 1 son, Lonny on May 12, 1997; 2 granddaughters; 1 great grandson; 1 brother, Clifford Frantzen; 1 sister, Mildred Waltzingham; and 1 brother, Peter Frantzen
