Passed away Sunday afternoon, August 23, 2020 at his home with his family by his side. Bob was born March 16, 1954 in Sturgis, MI the son of the late Robert Sr. and Sandra (Wines) Bucknell. He worked for several years with the Branch County Sheriff Department and the City of Portage Police Reserve Unit.
He was a graduate of Worsham College of Mortuary Science and has been employed for over 30 years with Langeland Family Funeral Homes as a licensed funeral director. Bob was an avid bowler and was very proud of achieving the honors of a 300 game and an 800 series. He was also very proud to be the bowling coach of the Portage Central High School Girls Bowling Team. Bob was an avid WMU and Detroit Red Wing hockey fan, and attended many games cheering on the Broncos. He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends, along with his dogs. One of Bob’s greatest memories was the vacation he always wanted; which was his trip to Aruba with his loving wife Cindy. On September 17, 1977 Bob was united in marriage to Cindy (Folkers), who survives.
Also surviving are his children, Derek (Wendy) Bucknell, Darcy Bucknell, Kevin Bucknell, and Alex Bucknell; 2 grandchildren, Derek and Gavin; a brother and sister, James (Rica) Bucknell, LuAnn Osborne; and several nieces and nephews.
