Robert Charles Rohan passed away on Wednesday, June 2, at his home in Centennial, Colorado with his family by his side. Robert was a youthful 72, with plans in the making, dreams on the horizon, life yet to be lived.
Robert, the avid golfer, intended perfecting his game of golf, deferring to such self-authored documents as “Swing Thoughts and Triage” or to such revered theories as the “Stack and Tilt” methodology.
So before you read on, pause. Think of the myriad ways in which you encountered and engaged and celebrated this man. Then, hold those images close, bringing them with you into your own future. For Robert (AKA Bob)’s spirit will be with you in the making of those memories to come.
Robert was born in Denver, Colorado in 1949, the third of six children born to Patricia McNamara and Lacy Richard Rohan.
Robert headed to California for college in 1967, earning a BS in Economics at USF in 1971 and an MBA at Golden State University in 1975. His career, with a specialization in tax compliance, included a tenure at Lloyds Bank (SF), Peat, Marwick, Mitchell & Co. (SF), and ENI Exploration Co. (Bellevue, WA). When that latter enterprise dissolved, Robert’s entrepreneurial years began.
In 1992, Robert’s entrepreneurial talents took a turn toward family, co-founding FRx Software with his brother Mike.
Ultimately, Robert’s many interests beyond career ushered in an early retirement. From 2007 on, Robert energetically pursued his delight in family, his love of travel, his dedication to golf, his running total of vertical feet skied, and his models for trading stocks. He especially treasured his final years spent in St. George, Utah, where he hiked innumerable mountains and slot canyons and made many new friends.
Robert lived life on his terms, enthusiastically, happily, and with an openness to others sharing in his activities, interests and excursions. His legacy will live on through the many people he loved and mentored and inspired. Raise a glass, grape or grain, in his name. He would like that.
