Robert Burney Foster, November 25, 1931 – July 22, 2016, 84, of Birmingham, passed away Friday, July 22, 2016, at his home after a long and hard fought battle with Dementia and Parkinson’s Disease. Burney was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend. He was preceded in death by his wife, Janice Self Foster, and his parents, Robert Clyde Foster and Rilla Mae Lowery. He is survived by his daughter, Kimberly South (David); grandchildren, Tyler and Savannah South and several cousins, nieces and nephews. He was so very proud of his grandchildren and he was a supportive and loving husband, father and father-in-law. He was deeply passionate about his family, friends, classic Chevy street rods and the University of Alabama football. He was a proud and active member of Central Alabama Rod & Custom Car Club. He served in the United States Army from 1953-1955 at the Fort Hood base in Killeen, TX. He was a member of Taylor Memorial United Methodist Church.
