Robert “Bud” T. Dorris of Cocoa Beach, FL passed away peacefully at home on December 31, 2016.
He was born to Turner Dorris and Gertrude Bauer on August 31, 1930 in Miami, FL.
He is survived by his wife of 61 years Nancy Erickson and three daughters, Michelle (Don) Zahorak, Cocoa FL; Cheryl Birkbeck, Galena IL; Dana (Mike) Anger, Galena IL: eleven grandchildren and four great-grandchildren with a fifth due in May. He was preceded in death by his parents, a sister Marlene Johnson and a son, Robert T. Dorris Jr.

After graduation from high school, Bud joined the Navy and served as a pilot on the USS Randolph during the Korean War. He lived in Lima, Peru where he flew for Panagra before returning to the states. He received his Masters in Aerospace Engineering from the University of Miami before he moved to Cocoa Beach in 1962 where he worked for McDonnell Douglas at the Kennedy Space Center until his retirement in 1992.
