Mr. Robert Paul “Bucky” Miller, age 74, passed away at his home suddenly on Thursday, January 13, 2022 and went to be with our Lord.
He was born on December 21, 1947 in Durham, NC. He was preceded in death by his mother, Mattie B. Miller and father, Robert Paul Miller, Sr., and two sisters, Brenda “Cookie” Miller Weaver and Judie Miller Saady.
He is survived by his loving wife of 53 years, Peggie Dunn Miller, sister Delia Miller Rasmussen (Henrik) of Youngsville, NC and brother William E. “Bill” Miller (Diane) of Seattle, Washington. He will be lovingly remembered as a loving husband, brother, brother-in-law, uncle, and friend. He will particularly be missed by his beloved beagles, Star and Sissy. His family and friends will sorely miss his unique sense of humor!
Mr. Miller was a member of Riverside Baptist Church in Durham. He was a member of Durham Masonic Lodge #352. As a former radio announcer, he was passionate about country and gospel music for many years. In his retirement, he enjoyed talking on 2 meter ham radio. Robert was willing to help others and was approved as a Volunteer Examiner for Amateur Licensing Tests after retiring from a career in Public Safety. He was always willing to help others in many ways.
Now, in the world of ham radio operators, the man who held the call sign N4NCK, becomes an SK (silent key). His wife Peggie says Robert sent his last QRT (Quitting; stopping transmission or shutting down station) late Wednesday night/early Thursday morning.
