Robert Edwin Bostwick 89, went to be with his Lord November 9, 2014 at Meadowood Healthcare Pavilion, Bloomington, Indiana. Born November 10, 1924 in Chula Vista, California he was the middle child of three children born to Solomon Edgar and Marian Wooster Bostwick. Shortly after his birth the family moved back to their home state of Connecticut.

Bob grew up in East Hartford and St Petersburg, Florida where the family wintered. As a child Bob attended the Episcopal Church. His senior year in high school was during the middle of WWII and he received his diploma early(thru a special program offered by the military) and joined the Navy, February 22, 1943. He served until he contracted meningitis and was honorably discharged January 31, 1944. After his discharge from the Navy Bob enrolled in the University of Alabama at Tuscaloosa and received a liberal arts degree. He also while at Alabama met and subsequently married LaVada Ford of Richmond, Indiana.

Bob and LaVada moved to Washington D.C. where Bob started his new job with Hartford A&I as an adjuster and attended George Washington Law School at night. After 3 years they moved closer to his family in Connecticut and he completed his law degree at the University of Connecticut. In 1956 Bob and LaVada moved their family to Wabash, Indiana where Bob started practicing law with his brother-in-laws firm(Ford & Bostwick).

During Bob’s career as an attorney he served two terms as prosecutor in Wabash County and numerous times as special judge in city and superior courts. He was a long time member of the Elks Lodge and the American Legion. After retiring in 1987 Bob and LaVada moved to their home in West Palm Beach, Florida where they lived for 5 years before moving to Lebanon Indiana to be closer to their children and grandchildren. In 2010 Bob and LaVada moved to Bloomington, Indiana.

Bob was preceded in death by his wife of 66 years, his parents, his sister Betty and his brother Donald. He is survived by daughters Janet Kusiak(Gary)Bloomington, Andrea Grove (Mark)Nappanee, Indiana, Son Robert S. Bostwick(Patti)Carmel, Indiana and numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren whom all loved and adored him. He will be sorely missed. He never new a stranger and most whom came into contact with him quickly realized how special he was.
