Robert “Downtown Bobby Brown” Joseph Brown, age 62, began his journey to the spirit world on July 6th, 2021 from his home in Onigum, Minnesota. He was born to Hazel (Reese) Nordmarken and Joseph Taylor on October 14th, 1958 in Cass Lake, MN.
Bobby grew up in Minneapolis and graduated from Minneapolis South High School. Being of the competitive nature, Bobby played every sport, lettered and had personal trophies in all of them in high school. His love of sports made him an avid fan of all Minnesota teams. After graduating, Bobby attended college in Bemidji before working various jobs. He worked security at both the Mystic Lake and Northern Lights Casinos and as an E.M.T. for the Cass Lake I.H.S. ambulance crew. We often heard stories of Bobby saving strangers lives, from everyone but Bobby. He would come home from his shifts but never discussed or bragged about what he had done or who he had saved that day. Bobby lived simply and had a lot of heart ache in his life but his only regret was not getting to see the Vikings win a Super Bowl.
He is welcomed to the spirit world by his four children; Pete, Jesse, Cory and Donna Jones, brother; Walter “Moonie” Brown, sisters; Kimberly Brown and Kari Nordmarken, wife; Veronica Jones and stepfather; Chuck Nordmarken.
Those he leaves behind are his children; Bobby, Dwight, John and Roxanne Jones all of Cass Lake, mother; Hazel Nordmarken of Onigum, brother; Jay (Julie) Nordmarken of Onigum, sister; Krisi (Shawn) Nordmarken of Onigum, numerous grandchildren, one great grandson; William “Chilly Willy”, best friend; Rick Wilson, many nieces, nephews, other relatives and too many friends to name.
