It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved Father, Grandfather, Brother and Uncle Robert Ismael Ballesteros aka Bobby, of Oxnard. On Monday March 23rd 2015 surrounded by his family after his battle with cancer.
He was born on April 27th 1950 in Oxnard, Ca. to Gabriel and Guadalupe Ballesteros and he remained a lifetime resident In Oxnard. Bobby loved to be around his family and friends especially his Grandson Peanut whom he called Pops. He enjoyed the garden and going to the farmers market. Anyone who came across Bobby’s path heard him sing, dance, laugh and make silly faces. He loved watching Novelas with his brother and best friend Santos while eating Wendy’s fries. He enjoyed going to his grandson’s sports and functions. He enjoyed cooking his lasagna and baking his crumb cake for birthdays. He also liked hanging out and making jokes with his ex-wife/best friend Cathy and cousin Jonni “Jonell”. It will be very hard to move forward in life without my dad and he will be missed dearly. We were truly blessed to have had him in all of our lives. My dad will always be my Hero because even till his last day here with us he sang and made silly faces. I will always carry that in my heart and memories of a man who didn’t let his sickness conquer his great and joyful personality. Dance with the Angels dad and save a place for me, Heaven is truly having a celebration now that the man who is the life of the party joined the Heavens.
Bobby is survived by his daughter Michell Ballesteros, grandson Jason Ortega Jr., brother’s Eligio Ballesteros and Walter Ballesteros. And will truly be missed by his best friend Santos Zacarias who was a big part of his life. Proceeded in death by his parents Gabriel and Guadalupe Ballesteros , sister Jennie Avalos, brother Gabriel Ballesteros and Theodore Ballesteros.
I would also like to thank all the Doctors, Nurses and therapist from CMH 4th and 6th floor and the Cancer Association for making my dad’s journey and ours a little more peaceful and made my dad laugh. Special thanks to my mom Cathy, Uncle Lee, Tia Jonell, Nicole and Daniela for helping Peanut and I during the last couple of months. We love you guys…
We love you Dad , Tatas…Until we meet again.
