Robert Elmer Shaw, beloved husband, father, brother, son, grandfather & great grandfather, passed away Tuesday June 5, 2018 at age 89. He was a kind and gentle friend to all who knew him, always seeing the positive.

Robert was born February 2,1929 the son of George Elmer Shaw and Almira McNeil Shaw in Salt Lake City, Utah, but raised by his step-father, Arthur William Kerswell. They moved to Idaho in 1935, where he attended school. He worked many jobs as a kid, working along side his father in many of those.

In the summer of 1945, Robert left home and joined the U.S. Navy for a two year enlistment during World War II. After boot camp, he was deployed and sent to Pearl Harbor, assigned on the Destroyer, Newman K. Perry. He participated in atomic bomb testing while stationed in Hawaii.
