COL (RET) ROBERT T SCHNEIDER 1944 – 2013
Robert “Bob” Schneider, a proud resident of Arizona for over 10 years, passed away on July 22, 2013 at home, following a brief, but intense battle with cancer. He was born in Long Branch, NJ in 1944 to Edith and Thomas Schneider. He is survived by his beloved wife of 46 years, Susan; his son James (Stephanie) Schneider, Toms River, NJ; his daughter Brandi McGrath, Jacksonville, FL; and two grandsons, Cole and Ty Schneider. Bob graduated from Monmouth University, West Long Branch, NJ with a B.S. in Business Administration in 1966, and entered the US Army. He was commissioned a 2LT in the USAR upon graduation from Infantry Officer Candidate School, Ft Benning, GA in 1967. While on active duty he assigned to the 2d Bn, 38 Ihf, 2n Inf Div, Korea from 1968-1969. He is also a graduate of the Army of the Army Civic Action Course, Ft Gordon, GA; the Army Quartermaster officer’s Advance Course, Ft Lee, VA; and the Army Command & General Staff College, Ft Leavenworth, KS. He retired as a Colonel in 1996, following a 30 year combined career in the Army, the NJ Army National Guard, and the USAR.
