Robert “Bob” P. Conrad, 76 and best family man ever, of Fairmount, died Wednesday, March 9, 2022, at Marion Health after an extended illness. Sincere thanks to Dr. Gillum and his nurse Stephanie, for their exceptional care. Robert was born on September 25, 1945, in Ohio. His loving parents were the late Charles “Oates” Otis and Edna (Oglesby) Conrad.
Bob graduated from Marion High School in 1963 where he played basketball and ran track. A hard-working guy, Bob worked for 50 years at the Owens-Illinois, later becoming PCA, doing several different jobs as the company changed. Bob loved animals, hunting, and fishing.
Bob is survived by his loving wife of nearly 45 years, Deborah “Debbie” (Medley) Conrad; children, Bobby (Bridgett) Conrad, Florida, Barbara (Brian) Marsh, TN, Michael (Sharon) Conrad, Swayzee, Sharon Small, and Christy (Steve) Sherman, both of Fairmount, Steve Conrad, Summitville; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; siblings, Luela Mae (Zeldon), Bill, Janet, Diane, and Joyce (Doug) all of Ohio; bonus sons, Aaron Whirl, Kyle Hamilton, Sean Monahan, Justin Saathoff, Josh Gipson, Brian Garrett.
Bob was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Gayle Sweeney; brother, Victor Sweeney; and sister-in-law Susan Sweeney.
