He attended St. Charles Preparatory School (47) and The Ohio State University (51) majoring in Education. He served as a 1st Lieutenant in the Korean Conflict. He was married to the late Ardith Ann Berwanger for 62 years; they lived next door to each other as children. He was blessed with a wonderful 34 year career with Ohio Bell and retired in 1985. He was a man of many talents; he could fix anything, played softball, rode his bike all over Delaware County and square danced. He loved to travel in his RV and internationally with his wife, enjoyed the outdoors at his farm near Lancaster, OH, and socialize with his friends. He never met a stranger. He was a gentle soul and an animal lover. He is survived by his sisters, Rosemary Susil and Rita Sandusky, his 4 children; Christine A. Berwanger, Cynthia L. Ordes, Robert M. Berwanger and Melissa J. Travis; his 11 grandchildren; Melissa McKay, Barbara Ordes, Diana Skinner, Matthew Monfort, Elizabeth Gregorio, Meaghan Monfort, William Travis, Molly Monfort, Abigail Trogdon, Robert (P.) Berwanger, Michael Berwanger; and four great grandchildren; America Gregorio, Jubilee Skinner, Appaloosa Skinner, and Amelia Gregorio and is preceded in death by his brother, George Berwanger. A devoted husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather. These simple words do not do justice to the man he was. He will be dearly missed. God bless him.
