Robert “Bob” Neil Smith, Sr., HMCS/E-8-US Navy Ret, 54, of Moselle, MS and formerly of Gales Ferry, beloved husband of Mary (Silva) Smith, passed away on Sunday, December 1st at his home. He was the son of Neil and Mae (Pool) Smith of Moselle, MS. Bob was born on February 9, 1959 in Laurel, MS and graduated in 1977 from Orofino High School in Orofino, Idaho. He love competing in sports, beginning with little league baseball to high school football and track & field which he broke several records and held for a number of years. Before joining the US Navy, Bob worked briefly as a logger in Idaho.
