Rev. Robert, “Bob,” D. Mushrush, 86, of Peoria, passed away at 2:24 pm, Wednesday, May 26, 2021, at OSF St. Francis Medical Center in Peoria.
On March 22, 1935, Bob was born in Claremont, IL, the son of Howard and Nola Mae Adamson Mushrush. He married Joanne Wiseman on June 13, 1954, in Bellmont, IL; she survives.
Throughout his entire life, Bob dearly loved and remained proud of his family, including four children, Kenton Mushrush of Peoria, IL; Kirk (Linda) Mushrush of Dyersville, IA; Kia (Tim) Vega of Washington, IL; and Kara (Brian) Parks of Rock Island, IL., ten grandchildren, six great-grandsons; one sister Donna (Carlyle) Berry of Olney, IL; two brothers Roger (Pat) Mushrush and Carroll (Brenda) Mushrush both of Sumner, IL. One dearly departed granddaughter preceded him in death.
Bob graduated from Bridgeport, Illinois High School in 1952. He earned his bachelor’s degree at McKendree College in Lebanon, IL, in 1956.
Despite an abundance of work and volunteer activity, Bob continued to find time to engage in his hobbies. He enjoyed gardening, nature, walking (six miles per day), biking, and reading (one to two books per week).
