Robert “Bob” Martinez was born on September 4, 1938 to Leonardo and Maria Martinez in McNary, Arizona and passed away with his family by his side on September 14, 2014.
He met his wife of 56 years, Janie, in Oakdale, California and they married on December 5, 1957. Together they raised 8 children, Jody, Robbie, Robin, Cindy, Michael, Kim, Paula and Tammy.
Bob was a well known shoe repairman and never met a pair of boots or shoes that he could not repair. He started and owned Quality Shoe Repair in Flagstaff and Bob’s Boot and Shoe Repair in Winslow for many years. Bob also worked, and retired from, Gene’s Shoe Hospital.
Our loving dad and grandpa was an avid fisherman and enjoyed hunting and camping in the great outdoors. He also enjoyed wood working, building things for his family and friends, gardening and remodeling around his own home. Bob also helped his friends and family by repairing items around their homes and during the winter months, you could find him shoveling snow for those in need.
Bob is survived by the love of his life, his wife, Janie and his children, Jody Martinez, Robbie Martinez, Robin (George) Sibley, Michael (Shelly) Martinez, Kim Martinez, Paula Martinez, Tammy (Joe) Grace, 25 grandchildren, 28 great-grandchildren, brother, Tony (Joy) Martinez, sister, Julia (Mike) Martinez and numerous extended family. Bob is preceded in death by his daughter, Cindy, and 3 grandbabies.
