Robert “Bob” Lewis Yeager, 73, of Newnan passed away Monday, March 2, 2020 at Piedmont Newnan Hospital. Bob was born December 11, 1946 in Newnan to the late Robert I. Yeager & Mary Anne Lewis Yeager. Bob was proud of his country and his service military service. He served in Vietnam as a Sergeant in the Army’s 25th mechanized infantry division where he earned the Bronze Star Combat Badge. He worked for the Coweta County Sheriff’s office for 28 years before retiring in 2016 as a Lieutenant Colonel in charge of the Court Division. After his official retirement, he worked part time as a bailiff for the court system. Bob had a special love for his family, especially his grandchildren. Survivors include wife, Bernice Smith Yeager; daughter, Bethany (Jeff) McGuffey; son, Cheyne Yeager; brother, Marty (Vicki) Yeager; grandchildren, Scott Yeager, Cody McGuffey, Skyler McGuffey; and numerous extended family of nieces, nephews, and cousins.
