Robert “Bob” Le Eckerty, age 51, of Hammond, IN, passed away unexpectedly at his home on November 22, 2021, and our hearts will never be the same.

Bob was born in Vietnam to Jimmie and Giau (Le) Eckerty and was raised in Hammond, IN, with his two younger brothers Rodney and Tommie.

He attended Donald E. Gavit High School then later moved to the Grand Rapids area to raise his three children David, Krystal, and Kennedy.

Bob’s proudest accomplishment was as a father and uncle to special nieces Chylar and Kinsley. He enjoyed spending time with his mom and dad, Curt Reuter.

Bob had a passion for Harley Davidson, fishing, shooting his guns, and Michigan football as a season ticket holder. A big part of his life included tailgating and watching the games with family and friends. Memories that we will always cherish.

Bob was intelligent, had a great sense of humor, generous, loving, and quickly made friends wherever he went.

Bob was a proud journeyman crane operator for Local Union 324.

Bob found love and was incredibly happy when he married Michelle. He quickly grew close to her children, grandchildren, and friends.

Bob was preceded in death by his father, Jimmie Eckerty. His mom Giau Eckerty and his dad, Curt Reuter, survived him; step-mother, Sue Eckerty, wife; Michelle, children; David, Krystal, Kennedy, step-children Brad (Shannon) Mead, and Ali (Robert) Kaczperski. His sister also survives him; Debbie (Mike) Smith, brothers; James (Lisa) Eckerty, Rodney (Tina) Eckerty, Tommie (Dawn) Eckerty, and Kim Hui (Courtenay) Eckerty, Leslie (Nick) Reuter, and Erik (Shulun Chang) Reuter. Along with nieces; Maci Eckerty, Jami, and Emri Allen, and Darcie Yonkman. Nephews; Matt (Liz) Smith, Tate (Chelsea) Smith, James Michael, Trai Kendall, and Dominic Barrenger. Grandchildren; Joanna, Emma, Leigha, Jesse, Jaxson Kaczperski, Bryce Tylen, Orion Tylen-Mead, and many extended family members and friends.
