Robert L. ”Bob” Day, 90, Chatsworth, California, died June 4, 2004 at his residence.
He was born April 14, 1914 and lived most of his life in Anderson, moving to California, after the death of his wife, in 1996.
He retired from General Motors in Marion, Indiana. He served in both the Pacific and European Theatres during WWII, as a Staff Sargeant; and was the recipient of three Bronze Stars. He was a lifetime member of the VFW and American Legion, with posts in Anderson, and in Southern California.
He is survived by his stepson, Michael W. Johnson and a daughter, Tamara M. Day, along with three grandchildren, Jeffrey M. Johnson, Jeni M. Johnson Ables, and Christopher M. Day. He was preceded in death by his wife of 48 years, Dorothy M. Wence Day, in 1996.
