On June 12, 2021 Robert “Bob” James Palmer (85) loving father of five children and grandfather of six grandchildren passed away surrounded by family.
Bob was an engineer who worked for Boeing and helped build the Lunar Module that helped put the first man on the moon; Apollo 11, and he was a co-designer of the first stage of the Saturn 5 rocket. Bob was a founding member of Marine Trades Association of Baltimore (MTABC), past president of MTABC, and owner of Tradewinds Marina for 38 years. Bob was also a proud member of the Navy League and spearheaded the completion of Route 43 to Eastern Avenue in Middle River.
Bob was a devoted husband of the late Betty Ann Palmer (nee Mertz); beloved father of Debora Ann Evans, Dawn Marie Palmer-Schneider and her husband Brian, Thomas James Palmer and his wife Jennifer, Todd Robert Palmer and his wife Tina Lynn Palmer, and Troy Michael Palmer; loving “Gramps” of Aubrey, Cody, Kalyn and DJ, Jordan, Sydney Ann, and Jacob; dear brother of Marilyn Gagen. Also survived by other loving relatives and friends.
