Robert J. “Bob” French, 78, passed away on Saturday, March 28, 2020 at his residence in Cassopolis, MI after an extended illness. He was born on April 3, 1941 to the late John and Edith French.
Bob is survived by his loving wife, Melissa K. (Murphy) French; children, Jodi (Jim Meadows) Murphy, Dawn Murphy, and Robert (Chelsi) Coffman; grandchildren, Zachary and Mathew Tharp, Jessi and Micheal Stanford, and Aiden and Rose Coffman; great grandchild, Kenley Stanford; brothers, Lee (Peggy) French and Bill Wagner; special friend, Mel Hyman, and his faithful friend, Rusty, a jack russell terrier mix whom he rescued. He is preceded in death by his parents; former wife, Judy French; and brother, Jim French.
Bob worked at Hy-Line Enterprises, Inc for many years in shipping and receiving. He worked there alongside his best friend, Mel Hyman, founder and owner of the company, who he had known since the time he had served proudly in the United States Airforce. Bob enjoyed spending time with his family and anyone who knew him would tell you that he was a good and honest man. He enjoyed hunting and fishing in his early years. Bob loved to spend time with his wife Melissa when they would go camping in the woods. He enjoyed raising all kinds of birds from chickens, peacocks, and pheasants.
