EASTHAM, MA / WINSTED–HAYES – Robert “Bob” Hayes, passed away on October 21, 2016 surrounded by his devoted family. He was the loving husband of Marie (Jasmin) Hayes. Born November 27, 1946 in Winsted; the son of the late Roger and Theresa (O’Brien) Hayes. Bob proudly served in the U.S. Navy. He was a Carpenter employed at CH Nickerson for over 25 years before retiring and member of the CT Carpenter’s Union #24 for 40 years. In retirement, he worked maintenance for the National Park Service on the Cape. Bob enjoyed deep sea fishing, watching football and baseball and was proud of his garden and his truck. He was a kind man with a great sense of humor and loved his family and grandchildren very much. In addition to his wife, he leaves his loving stepchildren, Terry Beach and husband Jon, Kenneth Kostak and wife Donna, Jean Kostak and companion Art Benedict and Barbara Calabrese and husband Giuseppe; twin brother, Ronald Hayes and wife Wendy; two sisters, Karen Smyth and husband Alan and Barbara Hayes and companion Erich Weyerich, 7 grandchildren, Heather, Kenneth III, Lauren, Philip, Joshua, Amy and Luke; 2 great grandchildren, Austin and Sophia; brother-in-law, Francis Jasmin and wife Sandy; sister-in-law, Pat Jasmin; and several nieces and nephews.
