Robert “Bob” Gordon Bolam, of St. Johns, a native of Detroit and a former resident of Livonia and Brighton, died peacefully on May 14, 2024. He was 90 years old.Bob was born on October 25, 1933 in Detroit, Michigan, the fifth of eight children born to William Edward and Martha Elizabeth (Burkhart) Bolam. Robert was a true family man from the start. He took excellent care of his siblings, often treating them with comic books and other treats from his paper route earnings. He graduated from Redford High School and was drafted into the United States Army, proudly serving in the Korean War. For many years, he worked for Burroughs Adding Machine Company, beginning in the mail room and working his way to supervisor, until his retirement in 1991.Bob was a loving and devoted husband to his wife, Donna Lowe, whom he loved unconditionally. Their love story began as neighbors in Detroit, and Donna proclaiming that she was going to marry Bob before they had even met. It was love at first sight. After a brief courtship, they married on April 15, 1955 and together raised their family in Livonia. Robert loved his family more than anything. He would often say, ”I am the king.
