In loving memory, we honor the life and legacy of Robert \”Bob\” Evans McGhee, who passed away on December 10, 2023, at the age of 90. Born on August 9, 1933, in East Detroit, Michigan, Bobs journey through life was marked by good humor, hard work and devotion to family.Bob is survived by his beloved wife and lifelong companion, Patricia McGhee, to whom he was married 67 years. Together, they shared a connection that withstood any manner of challenges, demonstrating the true meaning of devotion. Bobs memory will forever live on in the hearts of his children Vicki, Kate and Robert; his cherished grandchildren Colleen, Spencer, Zack and Zoey; and younger brother Dale McGhee. Bob was preceded in death by his older sister Barbara Bigley (Bud).Longing to be a pilot even as a young boy, Bob proudly served his country as a member of the ROTC, United States Air Force and Air National Guard in Delaware, Canada and Michigan; attaining the rank of First Lieutenant.Following his military service, he began his career as an educator. After graduating with his Bachelor’s degree from Wayne State University, he pursued a Master’s degree in Education Administration at Eastern Michigan University; all while raising a young family and teaching full-time. Later, as an elementary school principal for Warren Consolidated Schools, Bobs leadership and guidance left an indelible impact on the lives of thousands of students.
