Robert “Bob” Ernest Miller, of Fowler, died peacefully at home on April 4, 2024 after a valiant battle with cancer. He was 64 years old. Bob was born on October 3, 1959 in St. Johns, Michigan, one of five children born to Ernest L. and Thelma G. (VanElls) Miller. He was a 1979 graduate of Fowler High School, and enjoyed over thirty years as a farmer, and a year and a half as an operator at the cheese factory. He met his wife, Kathy Smith, in high school, and the two shared many adventures together, from motorcycle rides to yearly vacations to tropical places. They married on October 3, 1981 and together raised their family in Fowler.Bob was a pillar of strength in his family, a loyal and loving husband, a supportive dad, and a fun grandpa, who always put his family first. He lit up any room with his charismatic presence and his sassy humor often brought laughter to those around him. Bob had a generous spirit and would do anything for anyone, often going out of his way to help those in need. He also had the unique ability to strike up a conversation with anyone, his warm, spirited nature making him an instant friend to many.Bob was a passionate outdoorsman. He took immense pride in maintaining his lawn and enjoyed family camping trips, riding his motorcycle, jeeping and woodworking. From small trinkets to buildings, Bob could create anything. He enjoyed deer hunting and was fond of his U.P. trips with friends. He was a proud member of the Hubbardston American Legion Post 182 and one of the charter members of the Legion Riders.He is survived by his beloved wife of forty-two years, Kathy Miller; his son Robert “Rob” (Anna) Miller; daughters, Lauren (Don) Stebbins and Allison (Shannon) Martin; grandchildren, Tyler Smith, Brayden Shoemaker, Kennedy and Clayton Stebbins, RaeLynn and Bryndle Martin; his mother, Thelma Miller; his sisters, Linda (Lee) Feldpausch and Karen (Jeff) Wohlfert; his brother, John (Amy) Miller; brothers and sisters-in-law, Jim Smith, Rick Smith (Kathy Schafer-Robison), Dawn (Joe) Salazar, Susan Eyer, Rod (Mary) Snay, as well as many nieces, nephews, extended family members, dear friends, and his beloved canine buddy, Beck. He was preceded in death by his father, Ernest Ladd Miller; sister, Cindy Miller and numerous in-laws.
