Robert D. McGill (Dad, Daddy, Papa, Bob, Shaky Bob, Cookies), 62, of Lafayette passed away on Friday December 24, 2021.
Bob is survived by his daughters Audrey McGill of Lafayette, Jenny (Eric) Scott of Lafayette, Brittany Green of Carmel, Kayla (Travis) Merkel of Lafayette, grandchildren Kylie and Piper Scott, Matson and Emmett Green, sister Darlene (Greg) Sanders, brother, Bill McGill, cats Mason and Minnie. He is preceded in death by his father Robert L. McGill, mother Wreatha Cantrell, brother Homer McGill, dogs TokaHe and Mato.
Bob’s work ethic was second to none. He started as a mechanic at Montgomery Ward where he met the love of his life Michele LaReau. They married June 4th, 1983. Although their marriage didn’t last, their immeasurable love for their daughters and grandchildren created an unbreakable bond.
Bob also worked at Nation Wise and went on to have a long career at SIA until his retirement.
Bob had many passionate interests. He was the biggest movie buff. He enjoyed going to the movie theater to see the latest Marvel release. He had a love for rock and roll. “Who sings this?” He was infatuated with the Native American culture. His spirit animal was the Red-Tailed Hawk.
Bob was an amazing man. He was always ready to share a laugh. He would give you the tie-dyed shirt off his back. He will be missed by so many.
