Bob was born July 16, 1946 in Marshall, Minnesota to Nick and Bertha Falk. He graduated from Lynd High School in 1964 and then enlisted in the U.S. Air Force. After basic training, he was stationed in Okinawa and then stationed at Malmstrom Air Force Base in Great Falls, where he met his wife, Louise Standley. Bob and Louise were married in June of 1968. In 1969, he attended Great Falls Commercial College where he studied accounting and business, and was medically discharged from the Air Force in 1970.
To the marriage were born three children, Kristi, Andrea, and Michael. Along with supporting his children in their activities and coaching some of their sports endeavors, Bob enjoyed hunting, fishing, softball, and bowling in his younger years. As he got older, he took up golf. He also enjoyed going to the casino, having a few beers, and playing the Keno machine. Bob prided himself on being productive and providing well for his family.
Then grandchildren came along and Bob enjoyed attending their events and having them in his and Louise’s home while their parents were at work. Everything he ate looked so good that they all had to sit in his lap and eat with him. With five granddaughters and three grandsons, his activities he attended varied from football to soccer to baseball to BMX to basketball.
He is predeceased by his parents; his parents-in-law, Lester and Bertha Standley; his sisters, Dolores, Laurine, and Marie; his brothers, Joe and Cliff; and sisters-in-law, Becky, Elaine, Paulette, and Jan.
He is survived by his wife of 48 years; his children, Kristi and Jerry Girres, Andrea and Josh Wood, and Michael and Jennifer Falk; and his grandchildren, Mariah Messimer, Katie Messimer, Kesley Wood, Cameron Wood, Shane Girres, Brodie Falk, Emma Girres, and Taryn Falk. He is also survived by his sister Sheila (Joe) Brewers of Minnesota; several nieces and nephews; and extended family, Nelson, Renee, and Autumn Messimer, Paul and Faye Selley’s children and their families, Maribeth Doan and Karen Carragher.
His fabulous work ethic and superb customer service, his infectious laughter, and his willingness to advise anyone on anything they were doing will be missed sorely.
